چکیده

Background Radial sampling is often used in dynamic CMR because it is robust to flow and motion, supports short echo times, and provides a diffuse aliasing pattern. One drawback is that current implementations do not support anisotropic field-of-view (FOV). Larson et al. [1] previously provided a simple scheme for supporting anisotropic FOV in static radial imaging. We extend the approach to golden-angle (GA) radial imaging [2], and demonstrate improved scan efficiency for real-time cine CMR applications.

Motion compensated reconstruction from free breathing 2D radial cardiac MRI data

Background Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) is affected by both cardiac and respiratory motion. While ECG-gated imaging within a breath hold is often the method of choice to limit motion-related artifacts, free-breathing methods are favorable in patients with limited breath hold capability. Free-breathing approaches require either rapid singleshot scans to reduce respiratory motion arti...

Golden Angle Radial Imaging for Improved Visualisation of Initial Stages of Inhalation in Dynamic He Lung MRI

Fig 2: Reconstructions using different numbers of projections (Np) starting from the beginning of contrast uptake, i.e. projections 1 to 32, projections 1 to 64 etc, for golden angle (top row) and sequential (bottom row) radial data. The plots (right column) show the signal time course from the centre of k-space projections 1 to 201 for golden angle (top) and sequential (bottom) data. Golden An...

User-initialized active contour segmentation and golden-angle real-time cardiovascular magnetic resonance enable accurate assessment of LV function in patients with sinus rhythm and arrhythmias

BACKGROUND Data obtained during arrhythmia is retained in real-time cardiovascular magnetic resonance (rt-CMR), but there is limited and inconsistent evidence to show that rt-CMR can accurately assess beat-to-beat variation in left ventricular (LV) function or during an arrhythmia. METHODS Multi-slice, short axis cine and real-time golden-angle radial CMR data was collected in 22 clinical pat...

Motion compensated cine CMR of the fetal heart using radial undersampling and compressed sensing

BACKGROUND To develop and evaluate a reconstruction framework for high resolution time-resolved CMR of the fetal heart in the presence of motion. METHODS Data were acquired using a golden angle radial trajectory in seven fetal subjects and reconstructed as real-time images to detect fetal movement. Data acquired during through-plane motion were discarded whereas in-plane motion was corrected....

Fast Fat Suppression Technique for Adaptive 3D Radial MRI Based on Multidimensional Golden Means

INTRODUCTION Adaptive sampling of k-space allows the reconstruction of images with various spatial and temporal resolutions from the same data set and is therefore suitable for dynamic MRI [1,2]. Golden-angle radial k-space sampling achieves this flexibility in-plane with relatively uniform angular sampling distribution for any time interval using samples incremented by the golden angle, φ = (√...
